Information we collect
We collect the information you choose to add to your account, including your email address, display name, profile photo, kitchen details, recipes, notes, cooking activity, and shared household content.
If you upload photos, CookTime may access your camera or photo library so you can add profile images and recipe images. We also collect basic technical data needed to keep the app working, such as authentication details, device-level app events, and error information.
How we use your information
We use your information to create and secure your account, show your shared kitchens, save recipes and cooking sessions, sync updates with other members, and support core features such as invites, notifications, and kitchen roles.
We may also use information to improve reliability, investigate bugs, protect against misuse, and respond to support or legal requests.
How information is shared
Your profile, kitchen activity, recipes, and shared content are visible to the members of the kitchens you join. Invited members may also see limited information needed to accept and manage invitations.
We may share information with service providers that help us host the app, store files, authenticate users, and maintain infrastructure. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of CookTime, our users, or others.
Photos and uploaded content
Photos you add for your profile or recipes are stored so they can appear across your account and shared kitchens. Please avoid uploading sensitive personal information in photos, recipe notes, or shared kitchen descriptions.
Data retention and security
We keep information for as long as it is reasonably necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your choices
You can update your display name and profile photo in the app settings. You can also leave a kitchen, remove shared content you control, or request deletion of your account using the in-app delete-account option.
If you delete your account, some shared kitchen records may remain for other members where necessary to preserve collaborative history, subject to applicable law.
Children and regional rights
CookTime is not intended for children who are not old enough to consent under applicable law. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain uses of your personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date in the app and on this page and may provide additional notice when required.
